I'm excited, but quite saddened that Big Bang Theory is considered a popular comedy series. After the first 5 episodes, it just sucked for me. Quite dry and repetitive. :\

I think the early renewal may have contributed to the show's apparent lackluster storyline this season. Think about it. In previous years, the renewal came at the very last minute -- in some cases after the season was over. So the creators didn't know for sure just how many episodes remained. But now with the renewal announcement occurring in January (or earlier -- that just happens to be when I heard about it), they knew that they had the rest of the current season plus a whole extra season to fill at a minimum. As a result, lots of episodes seemed like "filler" with no real contribution to the overall story arc. Anybody agree?

| yes i do agree with that, but i also think its no reason to have an almost storyless season, himym was great because of the story along with the comedy, and while they may have many more episodes to fill, i think drifting away from the main plot at this point is not best for anyone |

Can't imagine what season 6 will be. Season 5 was already bad enough.

I hope Marshall comes back. Jason has gained weight and become to homey for the Marshall I'm used to.
