|
|
HIMYM always has great music from very talented artists and bands. I've discovered a lot of new favorites from watching the show. But I've also thought that some of my "old" favorites would fit perfectly in a HIMYM episode (one example was when I thought how well Regina Spektor's music would work into an episode, and less than a week later, one of her songs was playing at the end of "Happily Ever After".
So, let's hear about some of the artists/bands you'd like to see on HIMYM. I'll start:
Ingrid Michaelson
Ingrid is responsible for the song in the Old Navy sweater commercial a couple Christmases ago (The Way I Am) and also had a song make it to Grey's Anatomy (Keep Breathing). She has a new album coming out next month (Everybody). Some of her songs that I think would fit nicely on HIMYM are "Breakable", "Be Ok", and "You and I".
Vampire Weekend
The members of Vampire Weekend met while attending Columbia University and consequently have a very "preppy" sound to their music. Nearly all of the songs on their single, self-titled album are great, but a few contain lyrics you can't say on TV -- but with clever editing, I'm sure they could make it work.
Maroon 5
Are Maroon 5 too mainstream for HIMYM? Maybe, but I just love their music. I think I have all of their albums, and I can listen to any of them all the way through without any "skip songs".
The Clarks
The Clarks are a Pittsburgh-based (my hometown!) indie rock band who appear to be very content to remain a local treasure, rarely performing outside of the steel city. But they have a great sound, and would fit well into HIMYM. My favorite songs are "Let It Go", "Born Too Late", "On Saturday", "Shimmy Low", and "Better Off Without You". _________________ --Matt |

Well one song in particular, I think would fit in the show is Lovesong with Amiel, atleast the beginning of the song. Her other songs might not be as appropiate though.

I also think that we will see more of A.C Newman, other than "Prophets" from The Leap. "Drink to me, Babe, then" is likely to be played in some episode. _________________ "Marshall, my sensors indicate that your Pecan Sandies levels are DANGEROUSLY low." |

Maybe a Mighty Mighty Bosstones song. Can't think of anything fitting to the show to be honest. Definitely MMB though. Maybe The Impression That I Get or Someday I Suppose. _________________

They took my suggestion by opening the season with Vampire Weekend's Oxford Comma! That's awesome! God, I love this show! _________________ --Matt |
